Join our team, get inspired, and help us re-imagine the world Transform the everyday with us We are looking for a Power Systems Consultant This role, that could be assumed by a Junior or a Senior professional, is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS to the electrical grid and to perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for clients such as power producers, independent system operators, and transmission providers to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations. Assuming a Junior, position you’ll make an impact as you: Perform transmission planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior. Prepare detailed written reports describing analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations. Work in small project teams, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and projects are completed within budget and schedule. Develop automation scripts to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations and analysis. Support proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines. Deliver on-site technical consulting/training services. Minimum requirements as a Junior Consultant: Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems. At least one year of relevant experience in the electric power industry (time earning an advanced relevant degree and relevant internships may be considered towards the one-year experience requirement). Practical experience using advanced power systems analysis tools. Candidate must have knowledge (through experience, coursework, or applicable related internship) of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability. Ability to travel 10% domestically. Preferred qualifications: Prior experience in Power System Consulting. Prior experience in EMT study Transmission system planning or operations experience. Ph.D in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems. Assuming a Senior, you’ll make an impact as you: Performing and leading consulting engagements related to power grid analysis and design, system dynamics and transients, system interconnection, and grid code compliance. Managing project execution, tracking project progress, and making necessary adjustments to maintain scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Maintaining relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for further business. Supporting proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines. Providing mentoring and technical development to junior consultants. Developing automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and boost overall efficiency. Delivering on-site consulting and training services Minimum requirements as a Senior Consultant : Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems. Minimum of 5 years of experience performing power systems analysis for electric utilities, ISOs, RTOs, and/or developers. Experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSS®E, TSAT™, TARA, PSLF™, or PowerWorld. Good knowledge of Reliability Standards with understanding of RTO and other regional planning criteria, procedures, and practices. Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills with demonstrated ability to write effective technical reports. Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally. Preferred qualifications: Prior experience in Power System Consulting. Industry experience performing power system transient analysis using PSCAD™ or EMTP-RV Ph.D in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
