Plant Manager – Veneer & Plywood Manufacturing

Location: Centreville, Alabama

About Us :

Cahaba Veneer is a well-established manufacturer of high-quality veneer and plywood serving the cabinet and furniture industries. Now part of Manthei Wood Products , we are investing in growth and modernization. We are looking for ahands-on, experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and drive efficiency, quality, and team development.

Role Overview :

AsPlant Manager , you will oversee all production activities across two shifts, ensuring smooth operations, quality output, and a safe work environment. You will work closely with the General Manager and have the opportunity to implementLean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency and throughput.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead all plant operations to ensure production goals for quality, efficiency, and safety are met.
  • Implement and sustainLean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and mentor supervisors and production employees to improve skill levels and engagement.
  • Maintain astrong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor production schedules, workflow, and equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Drive quality improvements to meet the needs of cabinet and furniture manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to optimize processes and support company objectives.
  • Manage labor, materials, and equipment resources effectively.
  • Foster ateam-oriented culture that values accountability and problem-solving.
What We’re Looking For :
  • 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience , preferably in wood products, veneer, plywood, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge ofLean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience managingmulti-shift production with 50+ employees.
  • Track record ofimproving efficiency, reducing waste, and driving performance.
  • Ability to develop talent and build ahigh-performance culture .
  • Hands-on leadership style —comfortable on the floor and engaging with the team.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance, quality control, and safety standards .
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills .
