Provides radiation safety support for Varian activities primarily in Brazil and Latin America. Responsibilities include supporting training, engineering, testing, application, and installation, related to medical devices including, X-ray machines, linear accelerators, brachytherapy, and other sources of radiation.
In this role you will provide radiation safety support for Varian activities primarily in Brazil and Latin America. What You Will Do

• Assist in the preparation of regulatory documentation for radiation generating machine registrations and radioactive material licenses with regulatory agencies.
• Support education facilities by ensuring the timely performance of shielding surveys, monitoring dose reports, and creating, maintaining, and updating radiation safety training.
• Perform leak tests and inventories as required by regulation.
• Track registration and license renewals, submit requests for payment to ensure registrations and licenses are renewed in a timely manner.
• Support Varian's greater North and Latin America radiation safety program as needed.
• Perform and advise on RAM package receipt and shipping per applicable shipping regulations.
• Appropriately respond to radiation safety related incidents within your scope, including properly communicating with regulators as needed.
• Perform audits in field operations to ensure operational compliance with radiation safety procedures.
• Review and organize the Brazil Rad Safety Policy into the Varian QMS.
• Register as the primary RSO for Varian's Jundiai Training Center.
• Advise internal business areas about radiation safety (Sales, Services, Installations).
• All other responsibilities listed in local regulatory agency licenses.
• Support the radiation safety program in the indirect operation countries in Latin America, as needed.
  

What You Will Have

• Bachelor's degree in Radiation Health Physics or Health Physics (or equivalent) with 3+ years of related experience.
• Qualified as Radiation Safety Supervisor at CNEN
• Languages: Portuguese and English B2/C1 are required, Spanish is desirable
• Experience supporting a radiation safety program (radioactive material, training materials,, machine registrations, dosimetry, etc.)
• Previous experience with Radiation Safety training creation and presentation
• Excellent communication skills
• Adept at working within a team environment
• Proficient utilizing business tools including: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday), or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
• Successful applicant will need to be able to report to Varian's Jundiai, Brazil facility at least three days per week.
