Quality Assurance Developer

BASIC PURPOSE: Audits and tests enterprise applications with a focus on backend ETL (Extract Transformation & Load) processes and other software modules as it pertains to the creation of data warehouse reporting instruments in order to ensure high quality and integrity of the information. Creates ad-hoc queries to pull information from reporting sources as requested by the business areas. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow established quality assurance standards and processes. Determine methods, flows, and procedures for better quality assurance and business processes. Create and documents test scripts to audit data integrity on an ongoing basis. Test newly developed applications by creating test scenarios and determining whether the delivered product meets the required business requirements. Analyze and resolve application and data issue problems as these arise. Document production processes and objects to allow for a better understanding for both the IT team as well as the user community. Handle ad-hoc queries from the data warehouse for the end users as needed. Perform other job related functions as assigned. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, MIS or related business degree from an accredited institution of study; or any equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years of data quality assurance experience, preferably in data warehousing or reporting. 2 years experience in quality assurance testing, preferably in the area of data integrity assessment. Preferably have at least 2 or more years of travel industry experience. Experienced working in a fast paced environment where shifting priorities are common. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Data analysis and troubleshooting skills with large amounts of data is required. Ability to synthesize and rollup information in various forms through the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) and procedural language (PL/SQL) on an Oracle database platform is highly desired along with strong knowledge of relational databases and their inner workings (tables/indexes/triggers, etc.) Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to resolve application and data issue problems quickly. Interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with business users, systems analysts, developers, management and IT team members. Verbal and written communication skills for efficient and effective problem resolution and ongoing documentation of process flow. Ability to work in a team based environment. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and shift priorities per changing business demands. Knowledge of Hyperion Interactive Reporting or any other enterprise reporting or Business Intelligence platform is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
