MId-Senior Java Software Engineer (Remote - Argentina)

Since 2019, OKTO has been enhancing payment interactions for online and retail gaming, offering frictionless solutions with local knowledge, sector expertise, and international reach. We currently employ over 200 experts, including payment specialists, gaming insiders, and software engineers, serving markets in Brazil, Romania, Italy, Greece, Germany, the UK, and Spain.

We are seeking a skilled Java Middleware Engineer to join our growing team remotely from Argentina. This role involves developing scalable payment technologies. If you are passionate about clean code, microservices, and impactful solutions, we want to hear from you.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Developing new product functionalities based on business and technical requirements
  • Producing performance-optimized, well-tested code
  • Supporting SIT, UAT, and production environments
  • Applying modern Agile methodologies
Requirements:
  • Excellent academic background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or related fields
  • Proven 5+ years experience in middleware application development using Java (at least 1 year with Java 8)
  • Experience with Java 8 Functional Programming and Object-Oriented Design
  • Familiarity with Event-Driven software design patterns
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Technical writing skills for requirements, design documents, and specifications
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
Specific experience:
  • Java 8 microservices with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud (Netflix OSS)
  • Spring 5 Framework, OAuth2 Security, JPA ORM, RESTful API design
  • Proficiency with Git version control
