Overview

Software Engineering Instructor role at TripleTen. TripleTen is a remote-first organization that empowers individuals to master tech professions through bootcamps. Our mission is to help students successfully master a new profession, find their purpose, and become valuable members of the tech industry.

In the Role

Full-time Bootcamp Instructors mentor students, help them with difficult concepts and assignments, and teach the skills necessary to be a great software engineer. They guide students through the program and into their future careers, ensuring all students get the most out of the experience regardless of background.

What you will do
  • Host webinars, Q&A sessions, and other educational events for groups of students covering program content, extracurricular skills, and career/industry knowledge; participate in other non-educational meetings with students.
  • Communicate with students in text (group chats or DMs); address questions including deeper explanations of theory, debugging assistance, task understanding, concept differences, and project navigation.
  • Check and provide feedback on students’ assignments, deciding whether projects are accepted or require improvements through iterations.
  • Participate in developing learning materials for students (e.g., live event scripts and handouts).
Requirements

  • Ability to communicate five days a week (Mon-Fri or Tue-Sat) between 9am and 9pm CST (8 hours per day; exact schedule can be discussed in the interview).
  • Strong spoken and written English skills; our students are primarily in the USA, and many team members are native speakers.
  • Careful, structured communication with the ability to provide constructive, empathetic feedback and a passion for helping people.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, vanilla JavaScript, React, and Node + Express
  • 1+ years of teaching or tutoring experience

Nice to have:

  • Passion for the SE field and its development
  • Experience studying online and a desire to help create the best place to study Software Engineering
