Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Network Consulting Engineer (NCE) – Security to join our team and support mission‑critical security projects. This role requires deep hands‑on expertise in Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), combined with strong consulting and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues in enterprise environments. The engineer will act as a trusted advisor, providing technical leadership, escalation support, and knowledge transfer to customers and partners. Key Responsibilities Act as "business driver" to improve customer's internal operations. Provide escalation support and troubleshooting for critical network outages and complex security incidents. Perform software and patch evaluations (RAs, PSIRTs, Bug Scrums) to support strategic decisions. Understand customer's internal business functions and culture. Escalation support and troubleshooting for critical network outages and complex network and security issues. Support team in root cause analysis, next steps, and recommendations for corrective actions in a response to a critical network incident. Support team on presentation for high‑severity SRs and defect trending. Conduct technical reviews, providing status updates, corrective action plans, and next‑steps recommendations. Assist client with presentations on high‑severity SRs and defect trending. Deliver knowledge transfer sessions, product training, and best‑practice reviews. Core Technical Skills Strong hands‑on expertise with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Cisco ISE. Advanced troubleshooting of network security, VPNs, routing, and switching. Experience Supporting Escalations with TAC / BU Familiarity with patching strategies, upgrades, and change management in mission‑critical environments. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation / orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, APIs) is a plus. Experience and Certifications 7+ years of experience in network security engineering. Proven experience in large‑scale, enterprise, and mission‑critical environments. CCIE Security certification preferred; CCNP Security acceptable with equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Soft Skills Strong communication skills, able to interact with executive and technical stakeholders. Customer focus and ability to work under pressure in critical environments. Strong technical presentation and documentation skills. Proactive, analytical, and detail‑oriented mindset. Team player with cross‑functional collaboration experience.
