This position will be based in Recife region. Amazon is looking for an Operations Manager to be based in our new Fulfillment Center in Recife. The Operations Manager has complete responsibility for all processes within a warehouse on a specified shift or across multiple shifts. Reporting to the Sr. Ops Manager, you will be directly responsible for a team of Area /Team Managers and their direct reports. You will work to continuously improve the functionality and level of service that we provide our customers, resulting in exceeded productivity goals and delivery against our customer promises.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and supervising a team of Area Managers and hourly associates in outbound and/or inbound operations for the night shift.
  • Ensuring overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of the shift.
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Meeting and exceeding operational goals.
  • Strategic planning, forecasting, performance appraisal, employee rewards and discipline, problem resolution, and staffing needs.
  • Mentoring, training, and developing teammates for career progression and learning.
  • Sharing best practices across shifts and the network.
  • Driving process improvements and motivating teams in a deadline-driven environment.

Additional responsibilities:
  • Managing staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, performance levels, process change initiatives, and process improvement projects.
  • Overseeing a team of approximately many employees in a fast-paced environment, including career development plans for direct reports.
  • Managing a shift and becoming a subject matter expert in your area.
  • Setting expectations for Area Managers and Team Leaders.
  • Collaborating with support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety & Security, IT) to support projects and initiatives.
  • Implementing change and developing new processes as needed.
  • Participating in cross-functional process and business improvement projects.
  • Being flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts regularly.
  • Potential mobility or relocation to Northeast Brazil.
Basic qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Administration, Economy, Data Processing, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Experience managing teams and performance management.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Fluent Portuguese and advanced English skills.
  • Operations or logistics experience.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • MBA or postgraduate degree.
  • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvement expertise.
  • SQL and advanced Excel skills.
