Logistics Coordinator Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, materials, and inventory throughout the supply chain. This role involves coordinating shipments, managing documentation, liaising with carriers and vendors, and maintaining accurate records to support inbound and outbound logistics activities.
Responsibilities And Expectations
  • Coordinate daily shipping and receiving schedules for inbound and outbound freight
  • Prepare shipping documents including bills of landing, packing lists, and customs paperwork
  • Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery
  • Track and trace shipments, providing status updates to internal teams and customers
  • Resolve shipment and delivery issues, including damage claims or delays
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP, WMS, or TMS systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings
  • Assist with logistics reporting and KPI tracking
  • Other duties as assigned to support the logistics and warehouse team.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, supply chain, or warehouse coordination
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and/or ERP platforms
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of freight carriers, LTL, FTL, and international shipping is a plus
  • Forklift certification or experience is a plus
Work Environment
This position is on the manufacturing floor almost constantly. Exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame, and soybeans is likely.
