**What you'll do**:
We are looking for a hands-on **Senior Accountant** who will carry out our day-to-day accounting activities and monthly reporting process, as well as own the ERP activities. You will play a key part in developing Oyster's finance function, developing and improving our financial processes from day one.
- Oversee full cycle accounting and inter-company transactions of the parent company and Canadian subsidiary
- Support month-end and year-end close process including review of the consolidated financial statements
- Ensure invoices in our ERP system are up to date and reconciled to the Oyster platform
- Own complex monthly reconciliations including balance sheet reconciliations
- Ongoing cleanup of historical accounts
- Provide PBC for monthly, quarterly and annual local filings
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial findings and trends
- Participate in financial standards setting and process improvements
- Ad hoc projects and analysis
**What we're looking for**:
- You have at least 3 years of experience working in an Accounting role (with at least 1 of these being in a senior role)
- Experience in software/SaaS industry
- You have prior experience of working at a high-growth scale-up, or in a fast-changing environment
- Intermediate excel skills, including xlookup, sumifs, pivot tables and basic macros
- You have excellent attention to detail, are very logical and love problem solving
- You are naturally curious and when something looks off, take the initiative to investigate further and make any necessary adjustments
- You continually seek process improvement and can leverage systems, software, and automation tools to achieve this
- (BONUS) Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP tool
- (BONUS) Proficient in Google Suite of products (Gmail, Google Doc, Google Sheets)
- (BONUS) Accounting or accounting-equivalent qualification (eg. ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
