We are seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join our remote team and lead the delivery of innovative and scalable data solutions.

In this position, you will manage technical teams, oversee system architecture design, and contribute to impactful projects that address complex data challenges. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, leadership experience, and a passion for innovation and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, efficient data architectures
• Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows to ensure quality and accessibility
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver data solutions
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability across projects
• Define technical best practices and maintain high coding standards
• Conduct code reviews and actively participate in technical discussions
• Support client engagements, pre-sales efforts, and critical team initiatives
• Share expertise through meetups, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical talks
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and integrate relevant solutions

Requirements

• A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• 7+ years working as a Data Engineer
• At least two years of leadership experience managing teams and projects
• Participation in at least two full-cycle projects or multiple phases of development lifecycles
• A history of hands-on problem-solving and technical contributions
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud-based solutions
• Expertise in Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning workflows
• Strong system design skills, balancing high-level vision with detailed implementation
• A demonstrable track record of driving technical impact in projects
• Competency in multiple technical domains and a broad cross-disciplinary background
• A commitment to mentoring and knowledge-sharing within teams and communities
• The ability to introduce and implement new tools, frameworks, or methodologies
• Flexibility to adapt to varying programming languages, tech stacks, and development domains
• Fluent English communication skills at a B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming technologies
• Knowledge of advanced machine learning and AI frameworks
• Capability to utilize serverless computing solutions for data workflows
