Overview of the Role The Database Engineer will drive the design, optimization, and maintenance of high‑performance database systems, focusing on query engine performance, database architecture, and scalable data infrastructure solutions across complex distributed environments. Key Responsibilities Designing, implementing, and maintaining relational and non‑relational database systems. Optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and database structures for high performance. Analyzing and improving database internals and query engines. Monitoring and tuning database performance, ensuring scalability and reliability. Collaborating with application and backend teams to design data models aligned with system requirements. Developing and maintaining backup, recovery, and high‑availability strategies. Evaluating and integrating new database technologies and tools to enhance system performance. Mentoring and guiding team members on best practices in database design and optimization. Requirements 4+ years with databases, SQL optimization, and query engine tuning. Strong background in software architecture design. Strong understanding of system security. In‑depth knowledge of memory management and performance optimization. Experience designing distributed and scalable solutions, particularly in cloud environments. Proficiency in relational and non‑relational databases. Ability to choose between different architectures/technologies. Advanced level of English.
