Construction Broker

The Role

We are seeking a Construction Broker to manage the day-to-day negotiation and placement of Commercial P&C programs for both new and renewal programs. The primary focus will be on national homebuilding clients and real estate developers, with emphasis on Builders Risk, OCIPs, and core Property and Casualty lines. Working on a specialty team and in partnership with senior brokers across business lines, the construction broker will coordinate closely with account teams to align negotiation strategy, manage portfolios and projects, help drive coverage innovation and maximize opportunities across a national client base.

The Responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit program submissions to the market
• Negotiate coverage and pricing to deliver the best results in the market
• Develop client-facing proposal documents that clearly outline and compare terms, conditions, and costs
• Present program results directly to clients, both in-person and virtually
• Perform coverage needs and gap analyses to recommend program improvements
• Review and evaluate loss information and analytics reports to assess client risk
• Track active projects and large portfolios
• Build and maintain relationships with carriers, programs, and wholesale markets
• Work effectively under deadlines while managing multiple priorities
• Participate in client and underwriting meetings, in-person and virtually
• Collaborate with internal and external specialists to identify new markets, coverage differentiators, and industry trends

The Requirements

• 10+ years of brokerage experience
• Active P&C broker license (underwriting background a plus)
• Ability to review and compare coverage terms and conditions
• Knowledge of program pricing and key cost drivers
• Skilled at translating coverage details into clear client communication
• Strong negotiation skills with ability to maintain positive relationships
• Highly organized, with consistent deadline management
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Excel, MS Office, databases, and agency systems
• Strong presentation skills; able to prepare concise client documents
• Client-focused and collaborative, with a willingness to go the extra mile
• Adaptable, receptive to feedback, and strong problem-solving skills
