Construction Broker Job

The Role:

We are seeking a professional to manage day-to-day negotiations and placements of commercial programs for national homebuilding clients and real estate developers, focusing on Builders Risk, OCIPs, and core Property and Casualty lines.

This individual will work in partnership with senior brokers, coordinating closely with account teams to align negotiation strategy, manage portfolios, drive coverage innovation, and maximize opportunities across a national client base.

  • Prepare and transmit program submissions to the market
  • Negotiate coverage and pricing to deliver the best results
  • Develop client-facing proposal documents that clearly outline terms, conditions, and costs
  • Present program results directly to clients
  • Perform coverage needs and gap analyses to recommend improvements
  • Review loss information and analytics reports to assess client risk
  • Track active projects and large portfolios
  • Build relationships with carriers, programs, and wholesale markets
  • Work under deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Collaborate with specialists to identify new markets and industry trends
Qualifications

The Requirements:

  • 10+ years of brokerage experience
  • Active P&C broker license (underwriting background a plus)
  • Ability to review and compare coverage terms
  • Knowledge of program pricing and cost drivers
  • Skilled at translating coverage details into clear client communication
  • Strong negotiation skills and positive relationship management
  • Highly organized and consistent deadline management
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Office, databases, and agency systems
  • Strong presentation skills and concise document preparation
  • Client-focused and collaborative with problem-solving skills
