Job Summary This senior‑level role provides sales support to existing paint and coatings customers while developing new accounts by strengthening relationships with key decision makers. The position requires working knowledge of coating applications and chemical products, partnering closely with customers to improve coating performance. It also collaborates with R&D to understand product chemistry and deliver optimized solutions that maximize sales and profitability for Hempel. Essential Responsibilities Build, manage, and grow relationships with existing customers while prospecting and developing new accounts. Develop and execute medium‑to‑long‑term sales and account plans to protect, grow, and diversify assigned customer relationships. Engage key decision makers through face‑to‑face selling and consultative sales approaches. Identify cross‑sell, upsell, and repeat business opportunities to drive revenue and profitability. Recommend appropriate products and solutions for specific applications to maximize customer value and sales performance. Partner closely with R&D to build strong product and application knowledge and deliver optimized technical solutions. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to ensure seamless customer experiences and effective order management. Prepare pricing quotes and manage the full sales cycle, including placing and tracking customer orders. Utilize CRM tools to manage account activity, pipeline, and customer interactions, and prepare accurate monthly sales reports. Represent Hempel at trade shows and industry events to generate leads and strengthen brand presence. Proactively resolve customer issues and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention. Monitor and report on customer retention, business opportunities, and relevant market trends. Sell directly to end customers or indirectly through channel partners, depending on account structure. Manage travel, customer entertainment, and related expenses, submitting monthly expense reports. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in paint or coatings applications, coating raw materials, or chemical products. ABRACO or NACE certification preferred. Strong problem‑solving skills, a hands‑on results‑driven mindset, and a proactive “hunter” approach to sales. Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to work independently. Effective verbal and written communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization (English proficiency a plus). Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Coaching and mentoring capabilities.
