Purpose of the role : The General Manager - Brazil will play a pivotal role in securing a new License in Brazil for payabl., a leading payments provider that empowers business growth for merchants and clients by enabling them to take and make payments quickly and easily. With a focus on understanding client businesses and providing the right solutions, payabl.'s expertise is unmatched in the payments industry, especially in the sectors its clients operate. The General Manager will lead our efforts to establish a compliant and effective operation within the LATAM market, focusing on Brazil.
You will:
- Ensure the infrastructure and setup comply with BCB (Banco Central do Brasil), JUCESP (Junta Comercial do Estado de São Paulo), and other regulatory bodies' requirements.
- Oversee the full operation of payabl. in the LATAM region, ensuring excellence and compliance in all facets.
- Work closely with the Group's Legal and Compliance teams to develop and strengthen the LATAM market.
- Manage the firm's reporting to BCB, JUCESP, and other regulatory bodies, including periodic and ad-hoc reports.
- Ensure proper governance and corporate responsibility in relation to our presence in Brazil.
- Liaise with the parent entity to report key updates and issues concerning the LATAM market.
- Manage relationships and source key outsourced arrangements for LATAM operations.
- Prepare and review standard procedural documents for daily operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Review and implement budgets to meet company goals and ensure the financial health of LATAM operations.
What we need:
- Experience: Proven track record in finance, regulatory affairs, and compliance within the payments industry or related financial sectors. Prior roles that demonstrate operational prowess and strategic risk management are highly valued.
- Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders. Operational agility and the capability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
- Mindset: An innovative thinker with a strategic outlook, capable of driving growth and adapting to the fast-paced payments industry.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in finance, business administration, or a related field. Additional certifications in compliance or regulatory affairs are advantageous.
