**Property Treaty Underwriter**:
**Location**São Paulo, Brazil
We are looking for an underwriter to support us in shaping our business development activities.
You will be responsible for property treaties at Munich Re do Brasil, guaranteeing the development and profitability of the portfolio. Our scope includes the reinsurance of existing business as well as helping our clients grow their business and manage their challenges in a changing environment. Property treaties include Fire, Engineering and Miscellaneous lines of business. Property Treaty Underwriter reports to the Chief Underwriting Officer in Brazil, working together in a team of underwriters of property, casualty, marine, agro and credit & bond risks.

Your job
Actively contribute to the development of MR Brazil Property Treaty operation by
- Underwriting Property reinsurance treaties including wording/coverage analysis, modelling, pricing and negotiation of terms and conditions
- Close monitoring the performance of portfolio, evaluating management reports, internal and external data, close contact with the clients and claims department, in order to properly adjust models and risk appetite and guarantee the profitability of the portfolio.
- Pro-actively contributing to business generation, through continuous monitoring market development and opportunities and building a close relationship with clients
- Supporting clients with their strategic needs, designing and structuring appropriate risk transfer solutions and being responsible for its realization
- Constituting a sparring partner for our clients, deeply understanding their portfolio and demands and working together with them in the adjustment and execution of their strategy
- Contributing to our treaty underwriting activities, performing market analysis, studies and calculations to support treaty pricing and the development of solutions to our clients' needs.
- Actively participating of innovation initiatives, through the development of customized solutions.
- Analysing re(insurance) clauses, checking adherence to our appetite and to group guidelines, verifying effective impact of clauses and recommending adjustments that ensure clear and desired liabilities.
- Frequent interface with the head office in Munich to exchange about local and foreign developments, internal and external topics and to also ensure Group guidelines, strategy and profitability standards.
- Constant interface with local internal stakeholders, such as Underwriters of other Lines of Business, Client Management, Innovation, Claims and Back Office departments, to maintain and develop a profitable portfolio.
- Representing Munich Re at specific industry events
**Profile**:
- Bachelor's Degree: Statistics, Actuary, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Law, Mathematics or equivalent
- Seven or more years of experience in (re)insurance business
- In-depth knowledge about reinsurance structures
- Experience in data modelling
- Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills
- Curious, enthusiastic, with keen interest in understanding our business and market needs in order to support the team in creating solutions for the customer's needs
- Hands on approach, being involved in all operational processes of treaty management cycle
- Fluent command of English, oral and written skills, is a requirement due to regular interaction with the Headquarter
