About the role

SCW Automotive Singapore is seeking a skilled Van Retrofitter to join our North Region facility on a full-time basis . This is a hands‑on position within our Assembly & Process Work operations, where you will play a crucial role in customising and retrofitting vehicles to meet specific client requirements. The Van Retrofitter will be responsible for the precise installation, modification, and integration of various components and systems into commercial vehicles, ensuring every retrofit meets our high standards of quality and safety.

What you'll be doing

• Dismantling and removing existing vehicle components with care to ensure minimal damage and safe handling

• Installing custom fixtures, shelving, storage systems, and specialised equipment according to technical specifications and client requirements

• Ensuring all retrofitted components are securely fastened, aligned, and functioning correctly

• Conducting quality checks and safety inspections on completed retrofits to verify compliance with standards

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions accurately

• Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently

• Maintaining a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times

• Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and project requirements

• Identifying and reporting any defects or issues that may impact the quality of the retrofit work

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in vehicle retrofitting, assembly work, or related automotive manufacturing roles

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments

• Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards

• Ability to work efficiently to meet production schedules without compromising on safety or quality

• Good physical fitness and stamina, as the role involves standing, bending, and lifting throughout the day

• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to identify solutions to retrofit challenges

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to take guidance from supervisors

• A safety‑conscious mindset with full compliance to workplace health and safety regulations

• Relevant certifications in automotive work or equipment operation are advantageous
