Description and Requirements

Our Global HPC Professional Services team is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages entrepreneurism and ownership - a workplace where your talents can and will be challenged, and your efforts recognized and rewarded.

Lenovo HPC PS team is looking for a seasoned Principal Consultant preferably based in Central/Eastern North-America (NA) or Latin America (LA) to join its Global HPC Professional Services team.

This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites.

Responsibilities :

  • Decipher complex RFP requirements related to HPC infrastructure and help HPC architects design a solution that fits within RFP requirements.
  • Work with key stakeholders (customers or internal) requesting infrastructure enhancements to develop a clear understanding of requirements and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with sales and critical engineering subject matter experts to determine the solution scope and projected costs.
  • Capture the solution description and review with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with engineers and developers to ensure the tasks are well understood and acceptance criteria met.
  • Continue partnerships with internal or external customers to ensure the project goals and requirements are met.
  • Identify key technologies needed to deliver new products with each release.
  • Participate actively with Development and external organizations while staying current with technologies and techniques that will move our business forward.
  • Provide HPC solution guidance over a wide range of HPC delivery projects.
  • Effectively project manage vendors contracted to provide separate pieces of the solution.
  • Ensure customer expectations are appropriately set and managed.
  • Lead technical project teams in the delivery of consulting service offerings.
  • Drive and manage the objectives, requirements gathering, and from time to time project tasks to ensure engagements are delivered successfully and on time while meeting the business objectives.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of the current and anticipated future state of the HPC infrastructure marketplace including HPC infrastructure trends, technologies, and standards.
  • Train and mentor consultants and sales specialists in core solution areas.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Applicant must have worked in an HPC environment, preferably as a technical lead and possess strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions.
  • Extensive experience working within the HPC sector, preferably more than 5 years.
  • Detailed understanding of data center and HPC solution delivery processes and architectures.
  • Proven ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders and ability to drive issues to closure.
  • Bachelor degree (within an engineering discipline).
  • Experience in providing effective leadership in engagements as a technical consultant in the HPC delivery subject matter area.
  • Demonstrated willingness to get your hands dirty.
  • Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout career.
  • English language required. Additional languages such as Spanish or Portuguese would be an advantage.
