Job Title: Finance Specialist (Brazil)

Location: (Sao Paulo, Brazil)

Reports To: (Regional Finance Head)

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Local Finance Specialist to support our finance operations in Brazil. You will play a key role in expense management, month-end closing, reconciliations, and tax compliance, ensuring alignment between local practices and group company finance and management standards. This position requires fluency in English and Portuguese to collaborate with global teams.

Key Responsibilities

Expense Management

  • Conduct training sessions for local employees on expense policies, systems, and compliance.
  • Review and verify employee expense reports for accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Expense Tranining as group company and local business requirements

Monthly Reconciliation & basic analisis

  • Reconciliations with agency collaboration
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in the ERP system (e.g., SAP).

Tax & Compliance Support

  • Assist in preparing local tax filings (e.g., ICMS, ISS, DAS) and statutory reports.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with Brazilian regulations.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Support audits by providing documentation and resolving local queries.
  • Liaise with HR for payroll-related queries and with procurement for vendor payments.

Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps in financial controls and propose solutions to streamline workflows.

Requirements

Essential

  • Language: Fluent in English (written/spoken) and Portuguese (native).
  • Experience: 5+ years in finance/accounting roles in Brazil.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and ERP systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Brazilian tax compliance (e.g., SPED, ECD/ECF).
  • Knowledge:
  • Understanding of Brazilian GAAP (CPC standards) and basic IFRS.
  • Familiarity with local labor laws impacting payroll/expenses.

Preferred

  • Certification: CRC (Brazilian Accounting Board) active status.
  • Industry Background: Experience with multinational companies and experience with electronics importing companies

Soft Skills

  • Communication: Ability to explain complex finance topics clearly (e.g., training non-finance staff).
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a multicultural environment with global stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in resolving discrepancies and improving processes.
