We are looking for a Senior Data Reliability Engineer to join our Software Engineering team responsible for our platform that facilitates the visualization and communication between EBANX and our merchants. You will be part of a team of experienced developers responsible for maintaining a platform that processes millions of transactions every day. We cultivate an engineering culture that values and promotes sustainable quality, continuous delivery, high availability, quick feedback and meritocracy.

As a DRE inside this team, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the quality, reliability, and availability of data in large-scale systems;
• Developing and maintaining robust, fault-tolerant data pipelines;
• Implementing and improving monitoring and alerting systems to detect issues in real time;
• Building and maintaining backup, recovery, and automation solutions to enhance data reliability;
• Investigating and resolving data quality issues, such as inconsistencies and duplicates;
• Collaborating with teams from different departments, including Engineering, Data Science, and Operations, to ensure efficient use of data;
• Defining and monitoring data reliability metrics, like SLAs and SLOs, to maintain high standards;

What is indispensable for the job?

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and deploying data solutions; the specific stack is not as important as a strong foundation;
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala;
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., BigQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch);
• Familiarity with big data platforms (Spark, Kafka) and data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow);
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of data security and reliability;
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices;
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools;
• Active participation in technical discussions and decision-making processes to create scalable solutions;
• Ability to share knowledge with the Software Engineering team;

What else we would love to see?

• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch;
• Experience with deploying and monitoring cloud infrastructure, especially AWS;
• Experience with software architecture;
• Familiarity with challenges in data replication;
