Software Engineer, iOS Core Product

Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio, so they can read faster, read more, and remember more. Our products include the iOS app, Android App, Mac App, Chrome Extension, and Web App. Google named Speechify the Chrome Extension of the Year and Apple named Speechify App of the Day.

Today, nearly 200 people around the globe work in a distributed setting. Roles include frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and others from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, and from leading programs and startups.

Overview

With the growth of our iOS app and recognition as Apple\'s 2025 Design Award for inclusivity, we are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to support the growing user base and work on new projects to push the product forward. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys a fast-paced environment, is passionate about shaping the product, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users.

We are a flat organization that values leadership through technical excellence and consistent, fast delivery. Work ethic, strong communication, and a drive to win are paramount. Our interview process involves several technical interviews with a goal to complete within 1 week.

What You\'ll Do

• Lead key engineering and product decisions
• Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app
• Work within a dedicated product team
• Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap
• Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• Experience with products scaled to a large user base
• A track record of taking products from inception to traction and owning the engineering of the product
• Customer obsession and a focus on providing the best possible experience
• Product thinking to evolve the product and support internal teams and designers
• Speed: ability to generate ideas quickly and decide what to ship now
• Focus: ability to work in a high-growth, remote team
• Technical skills: Swift, SwiftUI

Technical Requirements:

• Swift programming language
• SwiftUI experience
• Multithreading programming
• Working with CI/CD infrastructure
• Experience with Fastlane
• SOLID principles and writing well-structured classes
• Git and understanding of different Git strategies
