Duties and Responsibilities

Practice Development

  1. The On-Demand Technical Implementation Lead will assist with most aspects of an Ariba OnDemand implementation including (but not limited to): solutions design, business rule development, user interface configuration and customization, external system integration, technical / end-user training and project management.
  2. Drive “best in class” business processes implementation on SAP Ariba cloud solution.
  3. The On-Demand Technical Implementation Lead will assist the customer with data extraction from their existing systems, ensuring adherence to data specifications, and resulting in successful integration with Ariba OnDemand Solutions.
  4. Influence the opinions and decisions of clients leveraging proven best practices.
  5. Act as a liaison between the customer and various groups within Ariba such as Technical Support, Sales, Engineering, and Solutions Marketing.

Customer Focus

  1. The On-Demand Technical Implementation Lead, together with other OnDemand Implementation team members, is responsible for customer satisfaction during the successful deployment of solutions.
  2. Maintain regular communications with Customer representatives during implementation to keep them appraised of current project status.

Ariba Solution Expertise

  1. Is conversant in features, functionality and applicability of the following Ariba OnDemand Solutions: Procure to Pay, Procure-to-order, Invoice Pro, Procurement Content and Services Procurement (Field Glass).
  2. Build solution, customer, and industry knowledge by leveraging the appropriate resources (internally at Ariba and externally at the customer).
  3. Be willing to continuously learn new features (and occasionally new technology) and adapt to changing cloud technology and deployment methodologies.

Teamwork

  1. Work with and often lead internal and external resources to optimize customer impact.
  2. Proactively collaborate and drive the internal team to anticipate and respond to issues that could impact solution deployment.
  3. Execute with minimal guidance and show strong initiative.
  4. Maintain regular communications with the Project Manager.
  5. Display proactive communication (i.e., face-to-face meetings and phone calls are more frequent than emails).

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Technical Education Background (IT, Engineering Degree, Physical Sciences).
  2. Professional experience (technical consulting or custom development).
  3. Experience with systems implementation process/methodology including Waterfall and Agile approaches.
  4. Experience implementing or supporting an on-demand solution.
  5. Experience implementing or supporting an ERP system (Oracle, SAP, and PeopleSoft).
  6. Experience providing software demos/training.
  7. Experience deploying systems based on object-oriented platforms.
  8. Experience working with Ariba products.
  9. High level of competency in process design and configuration.

Preferred Knowledge

  1. Understanding of procurement and/or Accounts Payable.
  2. Understanding of systems implementation process.
  3. XML – ability to read, define and map XML documents.
  4. SQL – ability to create queries in SQL.
  5. MS Suite – ability to communicate effectively with Excel, Word, PPT, Visio.
  6. UNIX – some background/exposure.
  7. Web services - some background/exposure.
