Develop software applications and support teams.

Expand our engineering team as a Python Developer to support our portfolio of SaaS applications. This position is fully remote, collaborating directly with U.S. teams, contributing to products that impact the food industry globally.

Design and enhance APIs and data-driven applications while mentoring peers and shaping solutions improving food safety and quality measurements worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop features for customer-facing SaaS applications and APIs using Python.
  • Use Python and SQL for large dataset creation and transformation.
  • Contribute as a developer taking technical design lead or following team lead instructions.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments including data scientists, product owners, and DevOps engineers daily.
  • Implement testing methodologies meeting quality standards.
  • Mentor other developers in best practices and contribute to product improvement.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in Python-based application development, strong expertise in Django/DRF or Flask.
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Redis, Celery/RQ, and background workers.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design standards and experience applying them.
  • Good communication skills to discuss previous projects and technology choices.
  • Team-first mindset, ability to work well in groups, share experiences and improve processes.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented patterns and their application in Python.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • College degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software development, or related field.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Portuguese.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Angular experience for frontend development.
  • Containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code tooling exposure.
  • Azure DevOps proficiency for source code and build pipeline management.
  • Handling big datasets with packages like Pandas, NumPy, and PyArrow.
  • Base Linux environment experience.
  • AWS knowledge (ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
