Lead Data Science Visionary Job Description About the company:Carnegie has been a leader in higher education marketing and enrollment strategy for over 30 years.The Lead Data Science Visionary will lead advanced machine learning models and data-driven products to enhance student engagement, career outcomes, and institutional effectiveness.Data Science Strategy and Team Leadership:Manage a team of Machine Learning/Data Scientists, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement. Define technical roadmap and best practices for data science initiatives, focusing on model reliability, fairness, and interpretability. Direct design, development, and implementation of high-impact data products, especially segmentation and propensity models. Advanced Model and Algorithm Development:Design and implement machine learning models and algorithms for student audience analysis and AI-enabled career advising. Oversee advanced machine learning techniques, including predictive modeling, recommendation systems, and natural language processing. Establish processes for model evaluation, optimization, and monitoring in production environments. Data Product Development:Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate strategic requirements into data product features. Implement and manage MLOps and CI/CD workflows for efficient model and data product deployments. Ensure data governance, quality, and integrity across analytical solutions. Requirements: 10+ years experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or related role within SaaS, marketing tech, higher ed tech, or domains. Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring data scientists or ML engineers. Expert-level experience building and deploying segmentation and propensity models in commercial settings. Required Skills and Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
