The Group Product Manager is responsible for leading their Product Management team toward meeting and exceeding corporate goals and objectives and for representing the company's ethics and values in all internal policies and customer decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Setting and meeting product line sales growth and profitability goals.
  • Managing resources to support growth and expansion.
  • Forecasting and meeting group budget and group/product P&L.
  • Identifying and developing strategic target accounts.
  • Supporting regional sales manager initiatives.
  • Managing distributor relations and training initiatives.
  • Managing resources to support growth and maintain a customer-focused sales culture.
  • Developing, expanding, and launching new products.
  • Effectively targeting markets to penetrate and implement through the sales organization.
  • Developing and managing price lists, literature, and sales tools for the product line.
  • Developing and streamlining internal processes to support growth and improve communication.
  • Project management from concept to production and support.
  • Interfacing with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Key skills and attributes
  • Ability to understand machines on mechanical and electrical levels and quickly learn to apply the product.
  • Ability to write detailed specifications for a new product.
  • Ability to generate and write test and laboratory reports for customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication in prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with varied concrete variables and limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret various written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency with accounting, database, design, internet, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues and customers at all levels of business about the project.
  • Excellent sales skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Fluid power knowledge.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a sense of ownership to grow and maintain the business.
  • Directly supervises 2 to 4 employees.
  • Travel expected around 10%, up to 40% if needed.
  • Visionary leadership, delegation, and organizational skills.
  • Professionalism and the ability to work under pressure while treating others with respect.
  • Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, preferably in Engineering.
  • Experience in fluid power; certification is a plus.
  • Preferred: Product Management experience (customer interaction, sales support, product development).
  • SAP experience.
  • CRM experience.
  • Knowledge or experience with hydraulic cylinders.
