Amazon is seeking an Operations Manager for its new Fulfillment Center in Recife, Brazil. The Operations Manager will oversee all processes within a warehouse for a specified shift or across multiple shifts, reporting to the Sr. Ops Manager and leading a team of Area and Team Managers and their direct reports. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers and hourly associates in outbound and/or inbound operations for the night shift. Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of the shift. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals. Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs. Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning. Develop and share best practices across the shifts and network. Drive process improvements to keep pace with explosive growth and motivate others in a deadline‑driven environment. Manage and drive staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, performance levels, process‑change and Six Sigma initiatives to enable Operations and attain the business plan. Manage a large team of employees in a fast‑paced, time‑critical environment, including the setup and implementation of career development plans for direct reports (Area Managers). Manage a shift and major processes directly or indirectly, becoming a subject‑matter expert in the area. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Area Managers and Team Leaders. Collaborate with support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, Security, IT) to secure resources for projects and initiatives. Implement change and/or develop new processes as required. Participate in cross‑functional process and business improvement projects. Be flexible to work weekends, nights and/or holidays regularly. Be willing to relocate within the Northeast region of Brazil. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Experience managing teams. Employee and performance management experience. Fluent Portuguese and advanced English. Operations or logistics experience. Preferred Qualifications MBA or postgraduate degree. Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing and process improvement expertise.
