The project :We are looking for an exceptional Network engineer for this fully remote opportunity to work with aUS-based clientto join its application modernization initiative, helping rebuild a 25-year-old legacy system into a modernAWS-based architecture. Thisfocuses on managing Cisco-based infrastructure—specificallyFPR-2130 (ASA), FPR-1000 (FTD), Cisco 9300 switches, and support for aco-managed virtual Palo Alto firewall. This engineer will maintain VPN services, apply Cisco security updates, handle basic firewall/routing tasks, and ensure stable network operations during the organization’s modernization journey. Responsibilities : Manage and support Cisco FPR-2130 appliances running ASA code (AnyConnect VPN termination). Maintain and update Cisco FPR-1000 firewalls running Firepower Threat Defense (FTD). Administer and troubleshoot Cisco 9300 series switches for office LAN connectivity. Perform routine Cisco firmware/security patches, rule updates, and configuration changes. Monitor VPN availability, network health, and office connectivity; respond to incidents as needed. Coordinate as required on the co-managed virtual Palo Alto firewall (support-level involvement only). Ensure compliance with internal security standards and maintain documentation of network changes. Work closely with Byrider’s internal network/security team to support daily operations efficiently and cost-effectively. Requirements : 3+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or network administration. Strong proficiency with Cisco ASA, Cisco FTD, and Cisco switching. Experience managing AnyConnect VPN, firewall rules, NAT, and route configuration. Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls (basic understanding for coordination). Ability to independently perform routine security updates and network maintenance. Excellent communication skills and ability to work aligned with Eastern Time. Preferred Skills : Cisco certifications (CCNA / CCNP). Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.). Understanding of hybrid environments or security best practices. #J-18808-Ljbffr
