Job summary
Key job responsibilities
This professional will manage Apparel categories and their subcategories. Will be responsible to strategy and execution, owning this categories P&L, business operations and strategic planning.
Sr VM is responsible for growing selection, improving terms and cost structures, building long-term relationships and engaging vendor participation in Amazon in order to better provide to our customers.
As a leadership position, is responsible for knowledge management, development of self and others, setting goals andholding team members accountable for performance, and resource planning.
A day in the life
Analyzes sub-category metrics to
make decisions regarding,
selection, convenience and drives for
improvements
Owns the P & L for sub-categories;
develops plans that drive revenue and
margin improvement
Reviews results of promotions and
changes course of action if needed
Audits all elements of sub-category
business (e.g., inputs, site
experience, team performance), performs
deep dive analysis on problems to
understand root causes, and makes
decisions based on data
Acts as escalation point to respond to
vendor needs for sub-categories;
identifies trends
Responsible for creating and communicating inspiring vision establishing culture that aligns with the Leadership Principles
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects - prioritization, planning and task delegation.
- High threshold for working and thriving in an ambiguous, fast paced environment - figuring it out and adapting as you go.
- MBA preferred
- Track record of results, setting strategy, and running a large volume and high profile business
- Experience in category & product management, vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and finance
- Ability to operate effectively in both tactical and strategic modes
SQL knowledge is a plus
