Overview

Data Center Operations and Support Analyst - Windows VMware. On-site CLT contract, Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais. This role involves operating and supporting data center infrastructure, focusing on Windows VMware environments and associated components.

In this role you will:
  • Manage, operate and monitor high-availability data centers using technologies such as VXRail Dell, Storage EMC and HP Baremetal Servers. Follow procedures for DRP, execute commands, synthesize outcomes, apply patches and monitor health indicators. Include VMware virtualized platforms and Baremetal Windows or Linux servers.
  • Knowledge of core network concepts (switches spine-leaf, L3-L7).
  • Experience or certification for 1,500+ VMs/physical servers.
  • Monitor data center facilities (cooling, electrical, temperature/humidity) manually or with tools.
  • Prepare routine documentation to be followed during operation.
  • Storage and Backup Administrator responsibilities: maintain communication between storage and servers; ensure backups are performed and stored safely; follow company policies.
Tools & Technologies
  • Unisphere, Veritas NETBackup, OpsCenter, Veeam EMC VNX5500, HP P2000, DELL MD3200, HP P4500, EMC VNX5200, DELL ME4024, tape library Dell.
  • Install, configure, define policies, monitor backup activities for hybrid environments using Veeam/CommVault, NetBackup.
  • Coordinate tape library operations at remote sites; maintain safe tape libraries according to customer policies.
  • Monitor execution and recover/restart operations in case of failure.
  • Participate in DR training and real scenarios; restore activities to reestablish the environment quickly.
  • Prepare runbooks for command center execution.
  • Experience with backup/snapshot images, configurations, files, archives, databases, SAP to use disks, tape libraries, cloud.
  • Systems engineer/telecommunications or related background with knowledge of tools listed above.
  • Experience with data center facilities and DC IT infrastructure (servers, core network, storage, operating systems, ERP, HCI).
  • Experience monitoring multiple devices/applications using Zabbix, Grafana, Power BI or Tableau.
  • Execute runbooks for incidents/events and provide feedback for SOP improvements.
Knowledge to collect information from these tools
  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
  • Python, Java, .Net, Elastic Stack, Kibana and Selenium.
  • Microsoft System Center Orchestrator (SCO).
  • PowerShell.
  • SQL Reporting Services and Power BI.
  • Application Insights.
Key responsibilities
  • All hardware must be within Microsoft, VMware, and Red Hat compatibility matrices.
  • Ensure connectivity to central storage arrays (servers with HBA) are compatible with Huawei Dorado v6, Hitachi VSP, Dell/EMC VMAX 40k and VMAX3 arrays.
  • Provide maintenance and technical support for all software and equipment in the platform-as-a-service solution.
  • Validate compatibility matrix with all devices connected to storage and data network when updating drivers or firmware.
  • Monitor large activities with scheduling/requests (e.g., DR tests, electrical maintenance, planned changes).
  • Update microcodes for hardware, implement design changes to improve reliability/availability, and replace components as needed.
  • Monitor capacity and efficiency; suggest growth/baselines for storage and backup solutions; maintain storage-server communications and backups per policy; provide remote management solutions.
  • Ensure SLAs at the administrative level.
Nice to have / standout qualifications
  • Experience as a Product Analyst / Sales / Pre-Sales / Business Analysis.
  • Complete higher education.
  • English advanced/fluent.
