Cad Technician

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Complete electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates
- Provide design drawings, with a electrical engineer supervision for the following but not limited to:
- Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
- Lightning protection systems
- Control Systems, Schematics and Wiring Diagrams
- Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
- Instrumentation and controls interconnection and design is a plus
- One-Line diagrams
- Electrical Equipment, Lighting, and Grounding Layouts
- Electrical Room/Building layouts
- Block diagrams and cable tray layouts
- Panel and cable schedules
- Control System Architecture and Communication Layouts
- Schematic and Wiring Diagrams
- PLC Cabinet Layouts
- Preliminary Design Concept Sketches
- Final Detail Design Electrical Drawings
- 2D and 3D details and models
- Set up drawings including borders, title blocks, revision blocks, and drawing contents in accordance with established M&N or project specific drafting standards.
- Timely execution of responsibilities including working to meet production deadlines and progress milestones
- Interacting with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers to create, update, correct or enhance drawings during the design process
- English language - Fluent/Advanced; is a plus
- Spanish language is a plus;

- Flexibility to learn.

**Qualifications**:
- Technologist or Drafting Diploma in Electrical Design, instrumentation or automation
- 6 to 15 years of related experience in:
- Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
- Lightning protection systems
- Control Systems, Schematics and Wiring Diagrams
- Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
- Instrumentation and controls interconnection and design is a plus
- One-Line diagrams
- Electrical Equipment, Lighting, and Grounding Layouts
- Electrical Room/Building layouts
- Block diagrams and cable tray layouts
- Panel and cable schedules
- Control System Architecture and Communication Layouts
- Schematic and Wiring Diagrams
- PLC Cabinet Layouts
- Preliminary Design Concept Sketches
- Final Detail Design Electrical Drawings
- 2D and 3D details and models
- Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) are required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required and 3D modeling proficiency is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is required.
- Proficiency in BlueBeam Revu, is preferred but not a requirement
**Working conditions**:
Generally most work for this position will take place in the M&N offices. At times, site visits may be required for meetings, client interactions and site assessments. Site work will also take place in substations and electrical rooms.
