To strengthen our team, we are looking to fill the position of Medical Strategy & Field Lead - Rare Diseases. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for lead and mentor all medical team: Medical Solution Lead, Patients Liaison and medical analyst/interns. Responsible to design and implementation of the Access Bridge Programs when necessary. Member of the Brazilian Committee Review, along with Brazilian Leadership Team and Brand team. Co-Develop, adapt and implement materials and educational programs designed to advance UCB’s medical and scientific agenda, including review and approval of specified promotional and non-promotional materials. Manage OPEX budget associated with medical program development and execution. Provides medical and scientific guidance and approval for all UCB activities. Coordinates the generation of product/ disease state data (IIS, audits, RWE etc.) together with the local MSLs. Leads the local publication plan and ensures implementation, such as local medical strategic plan. Works with a third part company to design and provide training and mentoring programs to field based Medical Scientific Partners and Healthcare Provider Partners to ensure they have the necessary scientific knowledge and skills to be effective in their role. Represents Brazil in global discussions involving clinical research projects. Assesses feasibility and strategic alignment of any unsolicited investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and facilitates submission into global review committees. Work with internal and external stakeholders/advisors to identify opportunities for UCB to further contribute to the creation of patient value. Take proactive steps to ensure that patients that receive a UCB product have the best possible experience. Key Deliverables: Collaborate with regulatory teams to prepare and submit documentation to health authorities. Serve as the primary medical liaison with regulatory agencies. A clear, well designed strategic and tactical plan to deliver optimal patient value and thereby achieve UCB’s objectives. Highly rated and impactful educational programs – CMEs (Summit, Speaker Training, Ad boards, Product Launching) Lead the development of medical content for marketing, education, and training materials. Lead risk management activities and ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance regulations. Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes. Act as a bridge between the medical community and the company. Represent the company at scientific conferences, advisory boards, and meetings with healthcare professionals. Objective and measurable advancement in key elements of UCB’s medical and scientific platforms. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment in its own Brand team. Ensure ongoing professional development and training for team members. Strong, purposeful relationships with national and regional KOLs. Contribute to the development of the company’s long-term strategy. Stay informed on industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory changes. Ensure the success of the company’s products and maintaining the highest standards of medical integrity and patient safety. Requirements: Complete University Degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine or related fields. Experience in a Medical function (ie. Medical Science Liaison, Medical Advisor) in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in the field of neurology preferred (epilepsy and/or neuromuscular). Fluent English.
