**Role Function and Group**

**Position Summary**:
- Proactively contribute to the high safety standard of the group.
- Design, recommend and execute experimental programmes requested by Technologists with guidance from Supervisor.
- Supervise lab trainee work.
- Co-ordinate and ensure completion of discrete work elements; arrange package and oil blends, schedule analytical and performance tests, collate and document data.
- Co-ordinate and complete documentation elements; liaise with technologists and programme leaders, ensure all analytical and performance tests are available.
- Highlight any documentation issues and flag for timing and budget needs where appropriate.
- Participate in project / activity teams, present results and conclusions of the work as required.
- Interact with internal and external contacts as required to progress projects and documentation.
- Liaise with external service providers to ensure analytical, bench and engine testing are delivered to a high quality standard and against established timelines.
- Any additional responsibilities as assigned

- Background in chemistry, chemical engineering or related career.
- Experience of laboratory work.
- Ability to work independently as part of a team, with general guidance from a supervisor.
- Good time-management skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with spreadsheets, word processing software, etc.
- An understanding of standard/non-standard chemical and physical testing of lubricants as well as a working knowledge of formulation technology, industry testing requirements and oil specifications.
- Good English reading and writing skills.
