Ready to Press Play on Potential?**Let's start with the role**We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled **Principal Database Administrator** to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our MS SQL Server environments, with a strong focus on availability, security, and performance. You will play a key role in ensuring the continuous operation of our databases, particularly in complex, high-availability scenarios such as Availability Groups. In addition, you will bring your knowledge of alternative database engines like MongoDB and CockroachDB, as well as your expertise in cloud-based database administration.**As a Principal Database Administrator, you will**:- Provide comprehensive day-to-day support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and administration for multiple MS SQL databases, with a particular focus on **high-availability configurations** like Availability Groups.- Diagnose and resolve complex performance and availability issues, with in-depth **root cause analysis** to prevent future occurrences.- Oversee database maintenance processes, including **performance tuning**, index management, and job automation, ensuring optimal operation.- Develop and enforce policies for **backup and recovery**, ensuring database resilience and disaster recovery readiness.- Handle support calls and resolve technical issues swiftly, including response to **security incidents** and operational challenges.- Leverage expertise in **alternative database engines** like MongoDB and CockroachDB to contribute to cross-functional database projects.- Manage and optimize **cloud-based database environments**, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability in cloud infrastructure.**What You'll Bring**:- A minimum of **5+ years of hands-on experience** in MS SQL Server Database Administration in production environments.- Extensive experience with MS SQL Server database features, including **Jobs Scheduling, Monitoring, Patching, Backup/Recovery, Replication, Availability Groups**, and Always On configurations.- Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving **performance bottlenecks** and **availability issues**.- Solid understanding of alternative database engines like **PostgreSQL**, **MongoDB and CockroachDB**, with practical experience in their administration and troubleshooting.- Proficiency in **cloud database administration**, with experience in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.- **Fluency in English**, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills.- Strong teamwork, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, alongside a proactive approach to continuous learning.- A commitment to mentoring and supporting junior team members.**Kaizen Gaming Perks**A buddy will support you with your onboarding.Competitive salary package and bonus scheme.- ️ Health and life insurance for you and your family.Unlimited access to Udemy & continuous training for all your learning and development needs.Monthly allowance for lunch expenses.Nice rigs - 2.5K monitor, latest i7, tons of RAM, fast SSD.- Clear career paths & a developmental 360° feedback framework.LI-Hybrid**Recruitment Privacy Notice**Regarding the data you share with us, you may find and read our recruitment privacy notice here.
