Staff Data & AI Technical Solutions Engineer Databricks is seeking a Staff Data & AI Technical Solutions Engineer to lead complex Data & AI technical solutions for our customers. Mission As a Staff Data & AI Technical Solutions Engineer you will drive and mentor others in building solutions for challenges reported by customers, including production data pipelines, AI workflows, streaming ingestion, and more. You will collaborate with product engineering, customer account teams, and support teams to deliver results during critical production downtime. You will serve as a technical advisor to customers to build performant architectures and reliable services on Databricks’ platform. Impact You Will Have Lead and drive technical solutions for a breadth of complex problems reported by Databricks customers, including escalated and critical scenarios. Deep dive into code-level analysis and systems architecture of customer workloads to address issues related to Databricks products. Serve as a customer support advisor, diffuse escalations during incidents, quickly find mitigations and solutions for advanced use cases, and prevent future customer issues. Help enhance product simplicity and stability by influencing engineering and support teams to identify product improvement opportunities. Mentor others in platform and productionizing systems, spreading deep technical knowledge. What We Look For Minimum of 8 years of experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines with mandatory Spark experience. Expertise in SQL databases or data warehouses (Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, MySQL) and ETL technologies (Informatica, DataStage, Talend, Fivetran). 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Spark, Hadoop, Lakehouse architecture, data ingestion, streaming, or ML/AI applications. ~3 years as a technical lead on a Data & AI Engineering team, taking ownership of critical issues. Strong cross‑functional influence skills; prior support experience not required. Hands‑on experience with a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred.
