Welcome. I provide professional counselling for adults, adolescents, parents, and young children. I have over 30 years of experience in the health industry and am passionate about well-being. People seek counselling for various reasons, including stress, anxiety, grief, loss, depression, parenting concerns, conflict, relationship issues, PTSD, or emotional distress. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to talk freely about what is troubling you or what you're experiencing difficulty with. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling) and am a full registered member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors. For more information on upcoming courses, please contact me. I have extensive experience working with Perinatal Support Nelson as a counsellor and support worker. When working with mothers and children (0-2 years), I utilize an Attachment framework, which helps foster bonding and build happy families. Other areas of focus include: Anxiety Depression Change & Transitions PTSD Lifestyle and Health Issues Adults Parent & Child (0-2 years) Play therapy (4-10 years) I look forward to hearing from you. Qualifications and registrations BAppSocSci (Counselling) Full Member of NZAC Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator (C) The Circle of Security is an eight-week relationship-based parenting program. Goals for Parents/Carers include: Understanding your child's emotional needs by learning to interpret them Supporting your child's ability to manage emotions effectively Enhancing your child's self-esteem development Respecting your child's innate desire for security Applying the Circle of Security helps shift focus from trying to change undesirable behaviors with rewards or punishment to understanding behaviors as communication of needs and meeting those needs. Each group consists of 4 participants. Attendance at all eight sessions is required to gain the full benefit.
