Eh&s Manager

Join our winning team as an **EH&S Manager** in our **Environment, Health and Safety Department** at our **Guaruja, Brazil **site. In this role, you will ensure that the legislation applied as well as the company's internal policies are implemented and followed regarding Environment, Health and Safety considering the facilities in Guarujá, São Paulo and Mexico commercial offices. You will also provide technical support for topics related to EH&S by monitoring industrial activities, relationships with department leaders and actions management.
**EH&S Manager Essential Functions**
- Coordinate personal safety, property safety, occupational health, environmental and emergency response activities.
- Implement management programs based on company procedures, standards, and policies, as well as providing guidance, internal direction and promoting: the prevention of human and material losses; the avoidance of all damage to the environment; the improvement of operational efficiency and compliance with current legislation.
- Ensure that Olin Corporation reports and official communications to the Federal Police, Civil Police, Army, IBAMA, CETESB, and other interested parties are issued in accordance with the applicable legislation.
- Ensure that Occupational Health issues are carried out in strict legal compliance with internal requirements as well as those related to third parties providing such services, and guarantee adequate management of the e-Social process.
- Manage EH&S processes with department leaders in order to meet the requirements requested during the Global EH&S audit process, as well as the ISO 14001 audit. In cooperation with the whole team, ensure ISO 9001 requirements are implemented, especially in the EH&S Department.
- Keep abreast of all main activities and developments at the plant, maintaining a dialogue with other work colleagues in order to provide the necessary technical support to ensure that activities involving safety and environmental risks are carried out safely and in compliance with internal and legal policies.
- Ensure the qualifications of the work team, promoting development actions, using the tools provided by HR, seeking to maximize the levels of motivation, efficiency and commitment required by the company.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of projects to cover all EH&S needs.
- Manage the principal EH&S performance indicators, working with the areas to achieve the annual targets.
- Represent Guarujá in global EH&S team activities or requirements in order to keep the unit compliant.
- Hold/lead monthly EH&S meetings with the entire area leadership team, presenting key performance indicators, as well as discussing key EH&S issues and concerns.
- Represent the company, as/when necessary, before the various official bodies in matters relating to safety and the environment, with a view to complying with legislation, standards and preserving the company's image.
- Develop studies and diagnoses of working conditions, analyzing the results obtained and drawing up action plans.
- Be responsible for managing industrial waste from the generation process to the final disposal process, complying with all applicable legal requirements.
- Be responsible for managing all related costs of the assigned area of activities.
- Be responsible for managing environmental licensing processes in Latin America.
- Analyze accident and emergency scenarios, establishing preventive and corrective actions to minimize the impact of their occurrence.
- Ensure that testing and maintenance activities are carried out on emergency prevention and control equipment, defining resources and procedures to ensure that said equipment is in full working order.
- Technically advise on activities related to product safety, developing, and implementing specific projects, as well as generating and providing specific information to ensure that laws, regulations and internal procedures are complied with.
**EH&S Manager Position Requirements**
- University degree (BSc) in Chemical Engineering and/or Environmental Engineering or related areas.
- Specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering is desirable.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Chemical industry experience is desirable.
- Fluent in English.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and other relevant norms.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide support and to solve problems.
- People and conflict management skills.
