Senior Linux System Support Specialist

As a seasoned IT professional, you will lead the support for Linux environments, ensuring seamless operation and high availability. You will be responsible for managing installations, patching, migrations, and scripting using Shell and Perl.
You will troubleshoot hardware/software issues across various platforms, including Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and AIX, and optimize system performance to meet business needs. Additionally, you will coach and mentor team members, working with ITIL-based tools and monitoring systems.
Requirements and Qualifications:- Hands-on Experience: Proficiency in Linux and Unix systems is essential.
- Deep Expertise: Strong understanding of filesystem, volume, and storage management is required.
- Networking Skills: Knowledge of networking, clustering (PCS), and system hardening is necessary.
- Familiarity with Storage Systems: Experience with SAN/NAS, backup tools (TSM, VEEAM), and storage suites (EMC, NetApp, Hitachi) is desirable.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication and problem-solving skills are crucial.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends and non-standard hours is expected.
- Language Skills: Advanced English language proficiency is mandatory.
- Linux Certification: Having a Linux certification is advantageous.
- Language Skills: German language skills are beneficial.
- Additional Experience: Experience with Veritas Cluster, Apache, DNS, DHCP, LDAP is highly desirable.
