This position works under the direction of the Process and Engineer Manager and indirectly to the Plant Manager. The process specialist will work in partnership with production leaders, maintenance, and other engineers.
This role is responsible for establishing and enabling a consolidated process improvement program, using the Lean Initiative as the change methodology, which results in improved quality, efficiency, and profitability for the company. Process improvement work will include improving safety and environmental performance, reducing energy requirements, incremental production increases, and product presentation improvement..
**Responsibilities**
- Analyze and is decisive to Capital investment strategy for upgrades and or new equipment.
- Provide information on scenarios of capacity to production in order to support the decision to hire/improve labor
- Produce high-quality data and provide technical documentation that enables data-driven business decision
- Present status of development and continuous improvement projects and the impact of the projects on company-wide objectives
- Manage projects to enable supply chain improvements to manufacturing processes and raw materials by quantifying the impact of these changes on the performance of the materials
- Review and update standard data of yield and run rate aligned with Supply Chain Finance and senior leadership
- Assist in the start-up of equipment, including updating safety documentation, and technical documentation, and updating / coordinating the training of employees.
- .Serves as the primary technical lead for process and equipment improvement projects.
- Communicate regularly to share combined knowledge with process engineers in other locations.
- Support and feed information of KPIs that show product and process performance
**Qualifications**
- **Knowledge and desirable certification in processes improvement tools (Lean Manufacturing, SPC, or Six Sigma) focused on processes projects.**:
- **Fully Bilingual (Portuguese / English)**:
- **Installation and commissioning of new machines knowledge is a big plus.**:
- Experienced in the use of project management tools and methodologies (SmartSheet and/or Microsoft Project, experience with ePPM tools)
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, printing, laminating, and converting **(Not exclusive)**:
- Knowledge of statistics and DMAIC methodology **(Not exclusive)**
