Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) in computer science or management or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of Linux, UNIX administration
- 2+ years troubleshooting Network installation and configuration
- 2+ years triaging and repairing data center fiber optic cabling/systems and network hardware
- AS/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science or related area.
- Proven Knowledge on TCP/IP networking, cabling, optic types, test equipment such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
- 2-3+ years of mid-level and/or enterprise experience in a highly dynamic environment, experience working in virtualized enterprise networking
- Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Familiarity with common networking terms.
- Ability to travel 50%+ outside base location work area may be required possibly including international travels.
- Ability to identify issues root cause and process inefficiencies.
Job summary
We are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Infrastructure Delivery Technician Technician to join our growing team within networking scaling. The position responsibilities involve delivering the hardware, configuration and fiber connectivity of interdependent scaling projects across several data center locations. The Network Technician will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution in association with Technical Program Managers.
Infrastructure Delivery Technicians are expected to work with established best practices to refine operational procedures, develop new tooling and constantly think proactively and innovatively. The desire and ability to work in an ambiguous, collaborative environment is essential for success
- Certifications or knowledge in CCNA, CCNP or JNCIA.
- Comfort ability with small to medium project scopes and ambiguous details within work environment
- Tactical judgement and analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs
- Basic understanding of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, etc.) and common Networking Protocols.
- Experience with medium to large scale datacenter network implementations and support, experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments.
- Experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE).
- May automate tasks, modify small tools and propose new SOPs.
- English fluency.
