Role The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting in the month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, journal entries, inventory, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations. This role reports directly to the Accounting Director. Responsibilities Own essential account reconciliations, including accounts receivable/payable and inventory. Manage all cash-related activities including application and reconciliation of cash receipts, credit cards and bank transactions. Manage the processing of monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, recording of adjustments and reclassification journal entries. Review general ledger activity to ensure all activity is properly recorded and reflected in Rebag’s Financial Statements and identify issues to be corrected. Identify, explain, and communicate variances and drivers. Propose and analyze current operational accounting flows to suggest improvements. Manage merchant accounts receivable, including application of cash payments and reconciliation of commission fees. Assist management with ad-hoc projects and external audits. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required 2-4 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in the D2C/retail/luxury goods space or related disruptive space, ideally with inventory experience Strong technical accounting skills with understanding of current US GAAP and end-to-end accounting flows Advanced Excel and NetSuite skills Desirable experience with integrations of external platforms with NetSuite Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, professional Good communication skills and advanced English Ability to multi-task and manage multiple high-priority projects within tight timeframes Adaptable to a rapidly changing, start-up environment Seniority level Associate Employment type Full-time Job function Accounting/Auditing, Analyst, and Finance Industries: Consumer Services, Retail Apparel and Fashion, and Retail #J-18808-Ljbffr
