Operations Manager - Marketplace Optimization

The Marketplace Optimization Manager will handle the entire marketplace optimization front, being responsible for a variety of intense and technical topics, handling:

  • Maps: optimize, generate insights and monitor our maps performance, delivering projects alongside Product and Engineering to improve maps performance.
  • Fares: handle topics such as fare fallbacks and related issues, working with the pricing team to solve general problems in relation to how our fares are estimated and executed.
  • Cross-tool interaction: combine knowledge between the rider and driver pricing tooling to understand their interactions and build a cohesive, combined strategy.
What You'll Do
  • Strategic Ownership: Help develop, lead and implement a strategy to improve our Maps and Fares stack.
  • Business Sense: Monitor, understand, and interpret key operational and financial metrics to help figure out strategy and action plans. Develop and apply an understanding of the levers that move our business.
  • Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend the best approach to bring efficiencies and growth to our product portfolio.
  • Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes across the country, regularly reviewing performance for both pillars (Maps and Fares) as well as cities.
  • Product Improvement: Proactively search for new features or improvements that could enhance the experience and efficiency of our marketplace, measure their impact, and collaborate with Local and Product teams to implement launches in the region.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain productive working relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners across operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to scope, test and implement initiatives.
What You'll Need
  • 3+ years of quantitative experience with a consistent track record of solving analytical problems;
  • Data-driven decision mentality through strong analytical thinking;
  • Communication: Able to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet concise manner;
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and work well in a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreements;
  • Planning & Organization: Ability to create detailed project plans with project stages, milestones, basic interdependencies, and owners;
  • English proficiency
  • SQL is required, Python or R are a nice plus.
