Role: Head of Brazil Operations Jefferies is growing its presence in Latin America with an expansion of our capabilities in Brazil with the establishment of a full service broker dealer in country. As such, we are seeking an individual with expertise in Brazil Operations. In this position, you will focus on the resolution of complex F2B issues as we build out new business capabilities, in addition to handling and/or supervision of complex day-to-day securities settlements transactions. Initially, the candidate will help build out operational flows, working closely with business, technology, legal/compliance, and operations stake holders. Responsibilities will then shift toward management and supervision of day to day operations. Responsibilities Establish relationships with our vendors, trading desk, and internal corporate partners as we expand our business Assist in developing trade flows to support on exchange activity, securities financing, banking transactions, and building out broader market support for local Brazilian clients Develop reconciliations between Jefferies systems and B3 You will handle complex internal and external client inquiries, and resolution of transactional issues pre and post trade in partnership with Middle and Front Office peers Responsible for settlement functions within the Brazilian Market Escalate client issues and business risk on operational matters to management Ensure timely settlement and reporting of all trades, timely resolution of breaks, and escalation of issues as needed Work with Securities Finance team to facilitate borrow and financing needs Enhance KRI/KPI framework to ensure growth is monitored closely Analyze trade flows to detect operational and cost efficiency opportunities Join Brazilian industry forums to bring awareness of changes to rules, regulations, etc Implement operational guidelines and policies to support staff and document new processes and procedures for training purposes Requirements/Skills/Expertise 10+ years of experience in settlements/operations required Experience with processing, matching, and settling trades in the Brazilian market (B3) required, B3 self clearing experience required Experience supporting institutional client and firm trading required Experience carrying customer securities preferred Experience with client onboarding and setting up give up links Experience with local regulators and understanding of local rules/regulations Experience supporting institutional client and firm trading Fluent English and Portuguese Deep understanding of local market infrastructure including Sinacor and Inoa required Experience with FX/Cash Management functions a plus Experience working across middle and back office supporting Brazilian markets #J-18808-Ljbffr
