Summary We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Software Manager to lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent.
Job Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Ensure software development best practices are followed, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational issues, and drive process improvements.
- Support career development of team members through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to guide strategic technical decisions.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment on short- and long-term projects.
- Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English (Advanced).
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to sell the Architecture to key Stake Holders.
- Good presentation skills.
- Product knowledge of Oil and Gas Rigs Onshore and Offshore.
- Cyber security framework knowledge.
- Ability to recommend improvements / resolutions to improve customer satisfaction and product functionality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years engineering experience.
- Prior oilfield experience in Drilling or Subsea Systems.
- 5+ years proven experience in software development and team leadership.
