Description

As an airline, safety is our most important principle. Our Corporate Safety team is responsible for ensuring safety is prioritized in every action we take. This includes conducting flight safety investigations, educating pilots on potential safety threats, implementing medical programs, and helping prevent employee injuries. Our team is essential in maintaining a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.

Corporate Safety

Our Corporate Safety department manages medical programs and workers' compensation, assists employees dealing with injury-related lost time, conducts flight safety investigations, educates pilots, and oversees the emergency response team.

Job overview and responsibilities

This role acts as a link between field operations and the occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS). The objective is to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plans, programs, and procedures by interacting with frontline employees and operational leaders to uphold requirements.

  • Participate in implementing local OHS programs and procedures, ensuring departmental compliance. Monitor daily activities and report OHS non-conformities to the SESMT Coordinator and divisional leadership.
  • Collaborate on studies of occupational risks within work processes and environments, participate in accident investigations, and implement risk control measures. Perform daily OHS services, maintaining compliance and identifying discrepancies with established procedures, legislation, and policies.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions, campaigns, and lectures to increase workforce awareness of procedures and preventive practices. Conduct inspections, monitor corrective actions, and suggest improvements. Mentor the Internal Accident Prevention Committee (CIPA) and participate in related committees and groups.
  • Supervise the Fire Brigade's work, conduct drills, and manage emergency resources. Support other departments with waste management, environmental licensing, and liaising with environmental agencies and airport authorities.
