Renewable Power Project Developer

**The Role**:**What is the role?**The global energy system is changing. A planet with more people and rising living standards will need more energy. Solar energy, wind energy and battery storage are some of the fastest growing renewable energy sources. As technologies advance and production costs decrease, Shell believes the number of customers choosing these sources of energy will continue to grow. Shell is building a Renewable Power business with projects being developed in different parts of the world that are aligned with our customers’ needs.Key Responsibilities:- Overall responsibility to originate, assess and support large scale renewable power projects via greenfield origination or partnerships with early-stage developers. Near-term focus on photo-voltaic development- Support the “Renewable Power Development Manager” in the definition of assumptions for the Portfolio strategy plan.- Accountable to identify ideal locations for best-in-class project development, adherent with the portfolio strategy, through detailed ranking methodology, maximizing financial metrics (NPV/IRR)- Support and providing guidance to the Real Estate team on land negotiation.- Accountable for project development through permitting, interconnection, technical and regulatory milestones; Work through coordination of teams (Permitting, Real Estate, Engineering, Interconnection, Delivery, regulatory, etc.)- Responsible for projects assumptions updates, along with all teams involved in development, collecting, analyzing and validating the inputs for the financial model;- Responsible for organizing the project dataroom and Q&A processes for the Due Diligence to be carried by lenders, independent technical advisors, providers of Letter of Credit, insurance companies, investors etc;- As a result of DD processes, support the negotiation of Condition Precedents related to the development of projects which are target of acquisition.- Ensure that projects are compliant with all regulatory and Shell’s requirements;- Responsible for the project schedule and coordination of all the necessary works to achieve projects milestones in the right time.- Responsible for the projects budget management, until financial close, allocating resources according with project development requirements and ensuring no costs overruns;- Help build best-in-class greenfield development process and tools at Shell via deep understanding of project permitting / land entitlement, community engagement, coalition building and interconnection process for renewables assets.**What we need from you**- Must have legal authorization to work in the Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.- Minimum of 3 years' experience in project development, including but not limited to the following: regulatory framework for renewable projects, main project assumptions and their impact on financial metrics (NPV/IRR), Solar technology, interconnection, land entitlement, community engagement, zoning, and permitting for renewable energy projects are all covered.- Bachelor’s degree is a must, Engineering background is a plus and PMP certification is strongly desirable- Prior experience in a similar role in Brazil is essential, especially when it comes to conceptualizing and deploying a successful renewable project- Proven track record of the following:- Successfully delivering a greenfield utility scale solar or wind project up to construction.- Ability to coordinate multidiscipline teams;- Developing and managing projects; deadlines and task-related resources;- Adapting to new challenges and learning swiftly; and,- Completing tasks on schedule with quality;- Excellent project management skills, ability to build successful cross-functional teams, coordinate internal and external resources, and drive performance.- Assured & influential, able to cope with dynamic surroundings, a team player, prepared to travel up to 30% time when safe to do so.- Demonstrated initiative, ownership and focus regarding all tasks and deliverables related to project development.- Strong attention to detail and able to problem solve and work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment.- Strong network within utility scale renewable power generation.- MS Project advanced level is strongly desirable- Fluency in both Portuguese and English is a must.- Kindly submit your resume in both Portuguese and English.**Company description**Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemical companies with about 84,000 employees across more than 70 countries.
