We are seeking a highly skilled BI Engineer with expertise in Tableau and Snowflake to join our dynamic data team. The BI Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing data visualization solutions, supporting data warehousing efforts, and ensuring seamless data flow between our systems. You will be responsible for transforming raw data into insightful reports and dashboards, providing actionable intelligence to decision-makers across various departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering, a deep understanding of BI tools, and experience working with cloud-based data warehouses.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Develop BI Solutions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective data visualization solutions using Tableau.
- Build, maintain, and optimize Tableau dashboards that provide insights into business performance, KPIs, and other critical metrics.
- Create intuitive, interactive, and user-friendly visual reports, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
- Data Integration & Management
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to pull and aggregate data from multiple sources in Snowflake .
- Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across the organization.
- Performance Tuning
- Identify performance bottlenecks in data models, queries, and dashboards; fine-tune performance to improve dashboard load times and data retrieval speed.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and business users to ensure data needs are met and expectations are aligned.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design scalable BI solutions.
- Present findings and insights to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of business impacts.
- Data Governance and Best Practices
- Ensure data security, quality, and governance processes are followed, including proper documentation of data sources, definitions, and transformations.
- Implement and promote best practices in data visualization, data warehousing, and BI reporting.
- Troubleshooting and Support
- Provide ongoing support for Tableau dashboards, Snowflake performance issues, and other BI tools.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to data extraction, transformation, and loading in Snowflake.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar role, with a focus on Tableau and Snowflake.
- Strong expertise in Tableau for building dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
- Extensive experience with Snowflake, including the creation of scalable data models, writing complex SQL queries.
- Proficiency in SQL (advanced level) for querying, performance tuning, and data transformation.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data integration.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with AI offering within Tableau & Snowflake
- Familiarity with cloud platforms - Google Cloud Preferred
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical mindset with an ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- A passion for data and a commitment to staying up to date with the latest BI technologies.
