Senior Technical Compliance Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a seasoned technical compliance professional to ensure full compliance of our operations with Brazilian financial regulations, data protection laws, AML/KYC requirements, and payment system frameworks. This role will serve as the primary liaison with local regulators, lead compliance implementation, adapt technical systems to regulatory expectations, and support routine audits, while closely collaborating with global compliance and engineering teams to embed compliance into product development. Act as the primary technical compliance liaison between us and Brazilian regulators; representing the engineering in regulatory engagements that involve system architecture, data flows, business contingency, audit logging, and other technical implementation aspects of compliance. Participate in Brazil market-related requirements and project reviews, providing technical compliance oversight to assess requirements and ensure that products, technical architecture, and operational processes comply with Brazilian financial, payments, and data privacy regulations. Collaborate with global Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable technical specifications and system controls; Support internal and external audits and prepare regulatory filings and compliance reports; Continuously monitor regulatory developments in Brazil, assess impact on existing business and technical architecture, and propose mitigation strategies; Drive the systematic and standardized documentation of technical artifacts to enhance compliance efficiency and auditability; Provide compliance training and guidance to local business teams to foster a strong compliance culture. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have native-level Portuguese (written and spoken); fluent English for global collaboration; deep understanding of Brazil's financial regulatory landscape, including BCB payment system rules (e.g., PIX, SPB), AML/CFT regulations, and LGPD data protection requirements; familiarity with modern payment technology architectures; hands-on experience engaging with Brazilian regulators; and a Bachelor's degree or higher in Law, Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management, or related field. Responsibilities include: Liaise with Regulatory Bodies : Act as primary point of contact with Brazilian regulators regarding system architecture, data flows, business contingency, audit logging, and other technical implementation aspects of compliance. Compliance Oversight : Participate in Brazil market-related requirements and project reviews to ensure compliance with Brazilian financial, payments, and data privacy regulations. Technical Specifications : Collaborate with global teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable technical specifications and system controls. Regulatory Filings : Support internal and external audits and prepare regulatory filings and compliance reports. Compliance Strategy : Continuously monitor regulatory developments in Brazil and propose mitigation strategies to minimize impact on business and technical architecture. Documentation : Drive the systematic and standardized documentation of technical artifacts to enhance compliance efficiency and auditability. Training and Guidance : Provide compliance training and guidance to local business teams to foster a strong compliance culture.
