Data Engineer_ Snowflake

Job Description: Senior Snowflake Data Engineer (Migration & Modelling) Location: Brazil/ Costa Rica [Remote] Job Type: Contract / Project-Based (Staff Augmentation) Note : Need to support PST timings Project Summary: We are seeking highly skilled Snowflake Data Engineers to act as augmented members of a client's data team. You will be responsible for the hands-on execution of a complex, end-to-end data platform migration to Snowflake. This is a hands-on execution role. You will be expected to integrate seamlessly with the existing team and take direct ownership of critical migration and data modelling tasks to accelerate the project's delivery. This is a complex transformation, not a simple "lift-and-shift." Key Responsibilities: Data Modelling & Architecture: Collaborate with the client's BI and Data Science teams to define data requirements. Design, develop, and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models (e.G., Dimensional, Star Schema) optimized for Snowflake. Develop and document data models, data definitions, and data flow diagrams for the new environment. Data Migration & Engineering: Execute the hands-on technical migration of data from legacy systems to the Snowflake Data Cloud Engineer, build, and optimize robust ELT/ETL data pipelines within Snowflake (using SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, etc.). Implement and automate data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Team Integration & Delivery: Integrate directly with the client's data team, participating in all relevant project routines and workflows. Take ownership of assigned migration and modeling tasks, delivering high-quality, production-ready code and models with minimal supervision. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to data migration, modeling, and pipeline performance. Create clear technical documentation for all developed assets (models, pipelines, etc.). Required Qualifications & Skills: Expert-level Snowflake: Deep, proven, hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform (architecture, SnowSQL, Snowpipe, performance optimization). Expert-level Data Modeling: 4+ years of dedicated experience in data modeling (Dimensional, Relational) and data warehousing architecture. Proven Data Migration: 4+ years of experience executing complex, large-scale data warehouse migrations (non-lift-and-shift). Strong Data Engineering: Proficiency in building data pipelines (ELT/ETL) using SQL and modern tools (e.G., dbt, Python, or similar). Execution Focus: A proven "do-er" with the ability to integrate into an existing team and deliver on complex technical tasks independently. BI / Analytics Acumen: Strong understanding of how data models are consumed by BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and Data Science workloads.
