The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and implementation of Transit ITS projects. A dynamic leader with excellent communication skills, they are responsible for guiding project teams, managing resources, adhering to schedule performance, and overseeing financials throughout the full development life cycle. This includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of a project, including planning, organization, and implementation of project activities, ensuring projects are managed in line with scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards. Provide overall project communication to stakeholders and meet project requirements and stakeholder expectations. Serve as primary point of contact with the customer of the project and keep them informed of project progress. Manage and oversee all project activities, such as issue tracking and risk mitigation, facilitating project team meetings, and preparing/delivering status reports. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure successful execution of projects. Establish relationships with the customer's stakeholders and maintain good communication correspondence. Assemble an appropriate team to meet and exceed project expectations. Direct and control work performed within the framework of the project, including monitoring the critical path and implementing corrective actions. Coordinate and perform review of project deliverables, software, and hardware, and report on project performance. Work closely with the Systems Engineering and Product/Engineering team leads to plan technical reviews of system design and documentation with the customer. Develop project plans and schedules according to established company practices, policies, tools, and templates. Establish milestones and monitor adherence to program master plans. Manage financial schedule performance of assigned projects. Maintain and communicate scheduling changes for assigned projects as necessary. Oversee the full lifecycle of a project, ensuring each aspect is completed. Procure equipment and materials necessary to execute on projects. Develop subcontractors' scopes of work, execute subcontracts, and manage subcontractors as needed. Coordinate with Sales and Account Managers to further sales opportunities. Participate in proposal preparation, including standards of work and specifications, estimation of product and service costs. May participate in negotiation and administration of contracts. Travel may be required up to 40% for onsite customer visits. Requirements: 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in a technical or engineering environment with a focus on delivering projects to external customers. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, plus 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in an ITS environment. PMP certification or equivalent is preferred. Experience in the transit industry is essential. Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ability to learn new software programs. Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead a team. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and persuasive skills.
